Here are the items I dropped to the lake bottom
after discovering the mooring chain was attached
to nothing. The four weights are 15 pounds each and
the "new" chain is doubled. Even with this much stuff
on the bottom, and the "original" chain attached
to the doubled chain, the mooring is easily moved when
the boat is moored -- by wind or engine power.
