Laurel,

Below are two of Mazzaya riding the tube. (I'll post many more of our WI visit in future.)

Later, Z got up on water skis.

(My biggest, heaviest skis -- but they have a training bar to keep the tips apart and weights in the back to keep them in a good attitude. Once he gets the hang of starting, I'll move him to some smaller, lighter wood skis I've restored.)

Mike drove Iligene's boat, towing Z with me also holding the tow bar while floating behind him (my arms around his shoulders.) After a few minutes of this ("keep the tips up and your butt down") I climbed in the boat and Z yelled "hit it." He came right up in what's known as a "deep water start" -- the very first time he tried.

He wasn't up for long; he got his shoulders ahead of his butt. But there is no doubt he was skiing.

I hope to get him up a few more times before he leaves, maybe a Carlyle.

Mike drove my boat for me, and I drove it for him. I had two very long runs around Green Lake and Mike made some spectacular jumps (on slalom and two skis) and crashes while Z rode as "spotter." When Mike was skiing, Z relayed Mike's hand signals to me -- "slower, faster, Mike fell, etc."

Love,
-=Dad=-
