Grant's "hot rod" engine

engines

Engines, engines.
Early on, I intended to use a Model "A" engine in my hot rod.
Then one day my friend Terry Oberer phoned to ask if I was interested in buying a "B" engine. He had found one recently rebuilt. I bought that engine. (See it above, behind the "A.")
Than at last year's Model "T" Swap Meet, a fellow asked me if I knew anyone wanting a recently rebuilt "B?" The price was right, so I bought that "B" too.
Next, the widow of a friend in California asked if I could help sell some Pietenpol items. "Sure," I said, "send me a list. In the list were two Model "A" short blocks recenly rebuilt for use in her husband's Pietenpol. So I bought one of them -- and I intend to use it in the car.
(See two views of the "A" below.)
By the way, I sold the "B" engine I bought from the swap meet visitor and I still have the "running" "B" engine. I think I'll keep it as a spare.
