Hello Frank -- I have a Century Resorter 19ft here in the UK I am restoring her a little this winter and found your website very useful. I am having trouble with the hull number. I was told the number ended 501 making it JD 60501 but I don't think this can be right, maybe 201? I believe she was a demo boat for Century before being sold to Switzerland!!

Frank Miklos -- Interesting reworking of the dash. Looks like the original cowl but with the addition of the lower portion. Not a bad looking customization. Would have preferred different gauges & layout.

Frank Miklos -- The windshield says 1960. The 61 had a dog leg side. Did you just buy this? I think someone else posted photos a while back of this boat.

Gary Askam -- Yes, a dear friend of mine in the Classic Motor Boat Association here in the UK owned the boat. You will know him, a gentleman called Alisdair, and I have bought the boat from him. Had to replace a plank under the helm seat but other than that its just cosmetic. ie, strip to bare wood and start stain and varnishing etc.

Frank Miklos -- What are the lighting requirements in UK Different than here in the US? Lights are not original. Front deck also finished un-original. Do you have the rest of the sliding top? I'd have to go through the old photos but we may have determined this boat was hull JD6050, the first one built. I sorta remember talking about it. I'll see what I can find.

Frank Miklos -- If your boat in is JD6050 this should be a photo of your boat. Century usually used the 1st boat off the line for photos. The sliding top was an easy addition before shipping.

1960

Frank Miklos -- This boat probably after the photo, was fitted with the top. It was a new design for the top in 1960.

Frank Miklos -- Have you found the stamping anywhere? It should be stamped in the starboard engine stringer, on the inward side, near the upper edge. Usually under the removable floor section behind the engine but can be anywhere from the engine to under the rear seat. Should read between JD6050 and JD60190. For a total of 141 units in 1960.

Gary Askam -- Have looked around the gear box area of stringers but now you have said it could be back under the seat I will look again, unfortunately the engine is in place and the boat on jacks so difficult to climb around. I will find it! She could even be a 1961 boat, It would be nice to try and get conformation of some of her history!

Gary Askam I will check for the numbers but the aft deck looks right with the grills over the air holes, the dash looks different as does the bow deck but after 50 years its likely that things have been altered. My boat has the steps over the back and the electrics for the all round white light on the ensign staff, Wow, how exciting. Cheers.

Frank Miklos -- Original Century parts can be found if interested.

Gary Askam -- Thank you I will certainly be seeking advice on parts, etc. when needed. Touch wood, all ok at the moment!

Matt Byrne -- I have a 62 nearly identical except windshield

Frank Miklos -- Hull side paint and chrome treatment different in the 62. Same basic hull.

Matt Byrne -- Oops, yes, that too
