(10/20/15) The new instrument panel (below) has been given one coat of Rust-Oleum rattle can paint. It'll get two or three more. The original panel area is about an inch thick -- 1/2 inch 'glas and 1/2 inch wood; very hard on jig saw blades.
We'll probably make another panel. It will be large enough to cover the entire instrument/control area. I've been offered a piece of stainless steel about 10 inches by 20 inches. Been thinking about toggle switches, small circuit breakers and at least one pilot light (for bilge pump "on.")
The instrument/control wiring has been cleaned up. Below -- not completed, but you can see where we're going with this:
Will replace the fuses/holders with circuit breakers:
