Boat doin's today (4/20/14)
1972 Correct Craft Skier

MacSkier

(Sunday) -- This photo was made before pulling the engine.
Notice:

  • the aluminum "rails" for mounting seats.
  • the battery box protruding above the floor, under the observer's seat. This "box" will be eliminated; battery moved to new location.
  • the ice chest between the seats; approximate new location of battery.
  • the location of the ski pylon.
  • this photo.

Photo made today after trimming new floor to tops of new stringers, and further forward than the original opening. I carefully measured location of anchor for ski pylon, then marked an "X" vertically above the anchor's center. The hole for the pylon will be 1-3/4" in diameter, although it will be difficult to use a hole saw -- due to thickness of floor (2-1/4") here.
The new location of battery will be centered between seats, deep enough to permit carpeted floor panel to cover opening and provide access to battery. Notice the black outline describing the base of the new battery (this 'low profile' model from NAPA.)

Lots more cutting, trimming and filling needed:
